10 FLEET PL \ LONDON \ UK

FLEETING  A 2.5 x 10 metre site specific artwork permanently installed in the entrance foyer of 10 Fleet Place, a commercial building in London’s bustling city centre.

The texture and tactility of our signature tapestry like application of pin and thread comes into a world of it’s own in this contemporary yet dynamic urban portrait; distorting the perception of the city and blurring lines of brilliant light streaks; echoing nuances of it’s environment whilst capturing ‘a fleeting moment’ of a city constantly in flux”.

Intentionally unsymmetrically installed to initially engage with the viewer from the exterior of the building, stirring a sense of intrigue. The artwork interacts with the curved glass facade; inwardly and outwardly the reflections and distortions mirror and echo the motion of the life of 10 Fleet Place.

As soon as one enters the foyer, not only do you see it, you feel it; the complexity of the piece is endearing, and the materiality has the ability to capture and reel viewers in, creating an unforgettable experience. This dominant and powerful portrait not only references the iconic architecture that surrounds Fleet Street by capturing the perspective and depth of the vast array of buildings, but also the energy and vitality of what was known as London’s ‘Newspaper Street’.
